Setting Up Barbed Wire Entanglements on Old Baldy, so named because all its greenery had been blown away by tens of thousands of artillery rounds from both sides. In early June, UNC command ordered the occupation of 11 hills a few thousand yards in front of the MLR. One of the most prominent, Hill 266, became called "Old Baldy."
