MND Southwest had its headquarters close to the Serb stronghold of Banja Luka, epicenter for Serb opposition to
the Karadzic hard-liners and permanently locked in a power struggle with the Serb radicals of Pale. MND also
contained Jajce, scene of many clashes between Croat nationalists and Bosniac displaced persons.
